  1. Marco Polo returned from China with descriptions of a sherbet dessert.
  2. Cones weren’t invented until 1904. A Syrian waffle maker at the St. Louis World’s Fair helped an ice vendor out when he ran out of dishes. What did he do? He rolled his waffles into horns and the ice cream went inside. Genius!
  3. Want to make a gallon of ice cream? It will take you 5.8 pounds of whole milk and one pound of cream.
  4. Farmers from Vermont used to feed their hogs leftovers from Ben and Jerry’s. They apparently weren’t fans of Mint Oreo Cookie, though.
  5. The most ice cream is produced in the month of June.
  6. California actually produces the most ice cream in America!
  7. The United States produces the most ice cream in the world!
  8. Ice cream first became available to the masses in France way back in 1660.
  9. The world’s first soft-serve machine first did its magic at an Olympia, Washington Dairy Queen.
