Cowboy Hat Shenanigans

Today was the official start of GC session--the 60th session, that is. It was a very busy day for us--again. What had to have been the highlight for our friend Antonio, was his big debut at our KidsView booth.

Antonio was on hand to help hand out bright blue cowboy hats with our KidsView logo on it. When we decided to buy this item to hand out at this event, we truly wondered if they would be a good idea. Would our kids like it? Would they wear it? Are they going to wind up in the trash? The answers to those questions are yes, yes, and no. Kids loved the hats! But what really surprised us was how many adults loved them even more. These blue hats of ours are going to travel far and wide to South America, French Polynesia, Africa, and Asia. That is pretty exciting, actually.

Antonio himself was very popular at our booth--so popular we had to watch him carefully lest he be spirited away by not just kids, but those adults again. Well, KidsView's tagline is: "The Adventist Review for kids and those who will always be kids." I think that statement rang true for sure.

Kick back and take a look at highlights from our day today!

  • There is a hall of heroes of Texas in the convention center and people love to pose with them--even if they might not know who they are.

  • This is the youth pastor and his wife from the Southern Asian Seventh-day Adventist Church in Maryland. They just had to pick Antonio up for a photo with him.

  • And they weren't the only ones. This Antonio fan came to Texas all the way from Alaska!

  • Five-year-old Maryanne from Arkansas put on a hat and gave Antonio a cuddle. He didn't mind at all.

  • Antonio scanning the booth area anxiously wondering who was going to pick him up next.

  • So he sat on some of our KidsView cowboy hats and looked ready to meet and greet.

  • Just so you know how big this all is? This is just one small end of the exhibit hall.

  • Our booth helpers Jemima (left) and Kari, loved Antonio and moved our hats and special KidsView issues like no one's business!

  • Remember those adults we talked about? The ones liking our hats? Here are two of our friends from Myanmar now living in Michigan.

  • Last but certainly not least, grandmas really dig KidsView and KidsView cowboy hats. Just so you know.
