Have you ever baked in a mug? This easy recip will treat you to something warm and special on a cold day--or a warm one! If any of the ingredients are things you may not eat, work with your parents or teachers to experiment with substitutions.
1/4 cup flour
2 tbsp. cocoa (unsweetened)
pinch of salt
2 tbsp. oil
3 tbsp. water
ice cream (optional)
your favorite mug
Add all dry ingredients to your mug. Then add oil and water and mix until it is smooth and consistent. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 1 minute and 40 seconds (microwave times may vary). Take it out and let it cool for a few minutes (it will be hot). Consider having your brownie-in-a-mug with a scoop of ice cream.
A (Healthier) Brownie-in-a-Mug
You can make almost the same recipe above healthier by substituting different ingredients, which reduces calories and even adds some fiber. While we can't so guarentee you will like the flavor better, you just might--so why not experiment? Follow directions agove, but these ingredients:
1 tbsp. sugar (do not substitute)
1 tbsp. whole wheat flour
1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
a pinch of baking soda
a pinch of salt
1 tbso. of low fat vanilla yogurt (add more if needed to blend the mixture).
